These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Wavely Android application and website (collectively, "Wavely" or "the Service"), operated by the Wavely team ("we", "us", or "our"). Please read them carefully before using the Service.
By creating an account or using Wavely, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Wavely is a free audio application that lets you stream and download podcasts, public-domain audiobooks, and calm ambient sounds. The Service is provided "as is" and may be updated, changed, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.
Wavely uses passwordless Google Sign-In. By signing in, you authorise us to receive your Google profile information (name and email address) for the purpose of identifying your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.
You may only create one account per Google identity. You agree not to create accounts on behalf of others or for automated access.
As you use Wavely, we store your in-app activity — including podcasts you like and creators or authors you follow — in Firebase Realtime Database, linked to your account. This data exists solely to persist your preferences across devices and sessions.
You can permanently delete your Wavely account at any time from within the app settings. Deletion removes all data stored by Wavely — your profile information, your in-app activity (liked podcasts, followed creators and authors), and any locally downloaded files on your device. Deletion is processed server-side automatically; no residual data remains. This action cannot be undone. If you choose not to delete your account, your account data is retained indefinitely so you may continue using the Service.
Wavely does not host audio content. All media is fetched in real time from third-party services. The intellectual property of that content belongs to its respective owners:
The Wavely name, logo, and app design are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced without permission.
You agree to use Wavely only for its intended purpose — personal, non-commercial listening. You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the Service or its underlying APIs. You must not use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or the terms of the third-party services it relies upon.
Wavely allows you to download episodes and audiobooks for personal offline listening. Downloaded content is stored locally on your device and is subject to the same intellectual property rights as the streamed version. You must not distribute, share, or commercially exploit downloaded files.
Wavely offers an optional monthly subscription ("Wavely Premium") that unlocks additional features. Subscriptions are processed and managed entirely through Google Play Billing. By subscribing, you agree to Google Play's terms of purchase.
Your subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings.
We do not process or store payment information. All billing disputes and refund requests are handled by Google Play in accordance with their refund policy.
Wavely relies on Podcast Index, Apple iTunes, Internet Archive, Freesound.org, and Google Firebase to deliver the Service. The availability and content of these services are outside our control. We are not responsible for any changes, outages, or content decisions made by these third parties.
Use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's Terms of Service.
Wavely is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content will be available at any given time. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wavely and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or access to content.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Wavely after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you have questions about these Terms, please reach out via the contact page.
